Thousands of British Airways staff voted to strike from 22 Dec to 2 Jan, a move that will impact the travel plans of a million passengers. Its a no-brainer that this is one of the busiest time of the year for the travel industry, and this strike will lead to cancellations of most of the flights. This has been triggered by a dispute over changing working conditions including a cut in the number of staff on board each flight, a freeze on pay and new recruits getting less favourable contracts, something deemed essential for British Airways to overcome its reported annual losses. The legendary Las Vegas hotel Binion’s will close on 14th December 2009. The downtown Las Vegas hotel will close its 365-room hotel rooms. The casino portion of the hotel will remain open with table games, slot and video poker machines, the Race and Sports book, and its legendary hall of fame poker room.
