Official celebrations will be hosted by China on 27 September, with many other events taking place around the world.

Atlantis, The Palm – Dubai

Atlantis, The Palm is a 1,539 room, ocean-themed luxury destination resort located at the centre of the crescent of the man-made Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.  This US$1.5 billion joint venture project was developed with Dubai Government owned, Istithmar. The 2010 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between 3 October and 14 October 2010.

The 17 sports to feature in the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi will be held at six venue clusters and five stand alone venues in Delhi.  Ceremonies, Athletics, Lawn Bowls and Weightlifting will be held at Cluster I:  Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex; Cycling, Gymnastics and Wrestling at Cluster II:  Indira Gandhi Sports Complex; Archery (Qualification Rounds) and Table Tennis at Cluster III: Yamuna Sports Complex; Badminton and Squash at Cluster IV: Siri Fort Sports Complex; Hockey and Archery Finals (India Gate) at Cluster V: MDC National Stadium Complex; and Swimming and Boxing at Cluster VI: Talkatora Garden Complex.

Cape Town is the South Africa’s second-most populous and oldest city, also called the Mother City. Cape Town is about 16-hours by road from Johannesburg.

The Table Mountain can be reached by hiking by taking the Table Mountain Cableway. Chapman’s Peak Drive is a narrow road that links Noordhoek with Hout Bay, for breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains nearby. The beaches in Clifton and elsewhere on the Atlantic Coast are well developed. The V&A Waterfront is worth visiting for its shopping and eating options. Cape Town’s best wines can be sampled along the 4 main routes – the Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek and Wellington routes.

Third Sydney Route Announced Today Bringing Gold Coast Five Flights Per Day

Tiger Airways announced it will launch flights between Sydney and Gold Coast from this December.

Fares for the new route go on sale today starting from just $39* one way (Tiger raw fare including taxes and charges). Tiger Airways flights between Sydney and Gold Coast will start from 15 December 2009 with a daily flight between the two destinations.

Shelley Roberts, Managing Director, Tiger Airways Australia, says today’s Sydney-Gold Coast route announcement is another significant milestone for Australia’s fastest growing major domestic airline.

CHICAGO (December 14, 2009) – Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced today that Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort and Spa, located on Herolds Bay in George, South Africa, has opened. The resort is the second Hyatt property in South Africa, joining Hyatt Regency Johannesburg, which opened as a Hyatt hotel in October 1995.

The 100-room Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort and Spa is part of the 263-hectare Oubaai Golf Resort, an upscale residential and golf development overlooking the Indian Ocean on Herolds Bay. Located on the Garden Route, which extends along the Western Cape from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, the development also features the country’s first Ernie Els championship golf course.
