Legendary Las Vegas hotel Binion's to close, casino portion to remain open

The legendary Las Vegas hotel Binion’s will close on 14th December 2009. The downtown Las Vegas hotel will close its 365-room hotel rooms. The casino portion of the hotel will remain open with table games, slot and video poker machines, the Race and Sports book, and its legendary hall of fame poker room. Some restaurants will also remain open. The hotel management has blamed the economy for its move. Read more...

Sheraton Orlando Downtown hotel bought by Private Equity firm

Private equity firm Glenmont Capital Management LLC announced that it had acquired Sheraton Orlando Downtown hotel as part of a joint venture with Resolution Services LLC.

According to the hotel website, the Sheraton Orlando – Downtown Hotel will be leaving the Starwood system on January 16, 2010.

The Walt Disney World resort is the area’s largest attraction, with the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Downtown Disney. SeaWorld Orlando is a large park that features numerous zoological displays and marine animals alongside an amusement park with roller coasters and water park.
